hihi~ it's eugene!!! (lolz, keeping the top line short because the next paragraph is massive)
i got a lot of stuff done today, which i'm proud of. finished up the korean project script with my group (so now we have to memorize, perform, and edit the vid of it by monday 10 am...), worked on one of my weather class projects, and continued messing around with the cyworld code a little more. i designed my own minihomepy background, and while it's not 100% historically accurate, i'm very happy with how it turned out. i can't wait to share the end result of this project with all of you.
this is random, but when it comes to powering full steam ahead vs. planning all of your moves, what do you prefer to do?
usually i consider myself to be someone who plans out their actions to the point of inaction, but with this, i'm genuinely so excited that i don't think i can make myself wait for too long. ever since i joined spacehey, i wanted to see if there was a way i could replicate old cyworld layouts.
actually, heck, even since i learned about cyworld in middle school, i wanted to see it for my very own eyes in a modern format. and here we are. it's better than i imagined, actually, since i did a good chunk of it with my own hands (but not totally, of course. it's also the amalgamation of all my figures of inspiration and past cyworld designers).
but should i take my next steps now, or wait until i have time in the summer? finish my schoolwork before diving in, even though i know what i want to do? or am i missing things here are there, that will hinder me if i start now?
of course, i can never be sure. and really, there's a 100% chance i'll miss something even if i wait for years, it just depends on what that thing is. but still, i don't know. i'll think about it... tonight. perhaps a deadline will help me make a decision.
how do you guys approach exciting but completely unknown situations like these?
anyway. i have another post i wanna write later on, but for now, i think i should do some more work to keep myself balanced. see you~!

idk if this is a weird thing to say or not but i GENUINELY haven't felt this proud of myself in such a long time i'm so happy
i wonder if you guys have the same css update problems that i do, though. whenever i make a change to my css file, it takes a good few days for changes to show up, and i have to view the page in a private tag. clearing cache doesn't work, also... eh
hi eugene!! congrats to your group on finishing the script and to you for starting the weather project!
to answer your question, i think it depends for me. for school-related stuff i try to start right away because i wanna get it over with. for coding projects, i like to plan it out and get an idea of what i wanna do before i get started. but like you said, sometimes i get too excited to wait! instead of planning, i try to jump right into things. sometimes it works, and other times it doesn't, lol.
it's a really big accomplishment to have replicated a cyworld page in a spacehey layout. despite all the site's limitations and whatnot, you conquered the code! i'm proud of you too!!! :D
if you're too eager now, i think taking some small steps in your coding project would be alright. it would allow you to work on the coding project and schoolwork simultaneously. if that doesn't work out, maybe write down your ideas someplace so you can keep track of them, and then wait until summer. in the end, though, it's whatever you feel works best for you.
in situations like this, i usually put school first and make sure all my assignments are done before jumping into personal projects. that way i can focus solely one one thing bc i am not a good multitasker. i hope you're able to figure everything out, eugene!! best of luck to you~
hi nara!!! thank u so much :3
ah, i see!!! i really like the idea of writing down everything until summer, i think i'll try to do that? at least for a while, LOLZ. i really appreciate u sharing!!! and all ur kind words ㅠㅠ
hope u have a lovely weekend nara~
hihi eugene!! :D
YOU SHOULD BE VERRRYYYY PROUD!!!!! i'm proud of u for actually being close to bringing cyworld back in a modern way. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEEEEE IT!! i totally get the urge to just dive in right now even when there's schoolwork piling up. honestly? i'm more of a "power through while the excitement is still hot" person. if i wait too long, the spark fades and then nothing gets done. but that's just me being impulsive lol.
maybe you could do a little bit of both(?) chip away at the fun coding stuff as a reward after finishing school tasks. that way you don't lose momentum but also focus on classes! :3
excited to see the final result whenever it's ready!! you got this eugene~
(also wait--- IT TAKES A FEW DAYS FOR U TO SEE CSS UPDATES???????????)
hellos koi! :3
THANK UUUUUUUU i swear u guys are so sweet u're gonna make me CRY EVERYDAYYYYYY *loud sobbing* I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT EITHER!!!!!!! even tho idk how it'll go exactly, i'm excited about the process. and honestly, that notion about the spark, i used to be the exact same. staying up late because i wanted to make sure i executed a scene in my head perfectly as i saw it then, eep. i totally get it.
maybe! multitask. try not to let either crowd my brain too much.........
(also yeah...!!!!!!! is it not the same for others.................. oh no...............)
