short post since it's really late, but i wanna show you guys my new little coding project...

i've been listening to a lot of twilight-themed playlists recently... and i just got struck with the craziest remembrance of a layout i made based off of kat-tun's lips.

do you guys remember it? of course, it's missing a few things (my cursor, online icon, the pfp i originally used for it), but that's what it looked like... 

i remember i was so proud when i first made it (october 2024)... but then i was so worried about someone reporting me (for what? i don't entirely recall. for a while i was seriously worried about how vague the rules were), that i privated my account for a time. i was also deeply upset that the bilibili embed didn't work, even though i worked on the mini music player code and the embed code for DAYS in order to get it to play... on nein mc. but bilibili embeds don't work on spacehey, and thus... i felt like the entire layout was pointless.

and then i changed it after, what... a couple of weeks? i unfortunately don't have a complete archive of my layouts before december 2024... i mean, i have the codes, but not the screenshots. i don't remember the exact moments i changed layouts, either. if i go back and try to recreate them, a lot of links for the things i used are broken. so it won't work...

nothing exciting about this post, i just forgot about this layout for a while, lolz.

today was pretty good, though it's getting hot again. i'm not looking forward to it at all. i've always disliked how warm october is now. but with october (not necessarily in the beginning but somewhere in there) comes a new layout, which i'm excited for.

i think today was pretty okay! just had my discussion period, and then the zoom meeting with my professor... while it was shorter than i expected, i think it ultimately went well. she was really encouraging and gave some good advice :3

of course, this is... liable to change. some of the titles keep the default font no matter what i change, the widths for some medium-sized images may not fit due to them being set separately from the post body (see the previous post), and the mobile theme definitely won't be as fun. don't know where to put the music.

i still have to add your guys' buttons, my other links, my button, profile, my most popular posts / the archive? maybe? i don't know. i might shift if back to having left and right columns, depending on how much i wanna keep. 

all things considered, i'll probably change back to the theme i just had once we get into fall or winter for eels.  

but! i'm rather happy with how this turned out. it feels like my old spacehey div-overlay-esque layouts, but brought to blogger. i'm sort of proud.

i haven't been on nekoweb for a while because of my whole ~absence from anyspace~ thing, but i've been working on jinpudding recently and decided to wander around the explore page a bit.

AND HOLY. THIS SITE!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG??!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!? it's the most galaxy-coded konpeito-eating-like site i have ever seen. i'm so in love.  

in general, nekoweb is exploding with crazier site layouts!!! minimalism is the name of my web game, but i think this is a sign that jinpudding needs a total revamp soon, too... what to do, what to do...

i put the goodbye layout onto my profile. i think it looks pretty good. i think it's a good note to end on something slightly cyber and clean-- it was my trademark for a while, so it feels right. the song on it is sugarless girl by capsule! shoutout to nara for the recommendation~

isn't it so interesting how things can just... change so easily? or so quickly, in ways we could never comprehend before? 

elsewhere on the web, i updated my old neocities site's layout. you can check it out here-- what do you think? i don't do much there aside from test out code, so maybe it'll just end up as another test, but i think it looks good right now. i took the code from my pollen and salt layout that i used to have on friendrewind. i said this before, but i've been wanting to convert some of my old anyspace layouts into layouts for static sites or pages. i think a lot of them would work well for an about page, and it would keep jinpudding afloat for a while, at least.

other than that, i don't have much to do today. just some reading, and some applications. but i also want to get back to my bookbinding project... i had a plan, before summer break ended, to make a coptic-stitch-bound notebook with board covers. if / when i complete it, i'll show you guys a pic!

ah, and. this monday is the first meeting of the hallyu wave class i signed up for! i'm excited to see what'll happen. i'll tell you guys all the deets if we get anything good tomorrow~ ;3

truthfully, a part of me was a bit embarrassed to admit i played it for a long time. i don't know why. maybe it was because everyone else played roblox, and i felt like an awkward outsider because of it? eh. well, it doesn't matter anymore. i'm not really embarrassed now.

okay, into the friendrewind stuff. short, because it speaks for itself i think.

the other night, my friend selkie sent me over a post. (it's from napo, yes, but the evidence and screenshots are undeniable so stick with me here.) 

point-blank: friendrewind uses ai, is very likely vibe-coded, and the creator condones (or at the very least turns a blind eye to, which he obviously shouldn't) racism.

and honestly, this is just so... frustrating. how is it so hard for people to create a decent myspace recreation? spacehey was good, but the moderation's been in the dumps for ages now. friendrewind seemed okay, but then this popped up. and people are excited about myspace coming back, but as it turns out, they're just remaking it to scrape data off of users and sell it.

not sure about napo, it always felt cynical and edgy to me, but that's that. friendproject is a ghost town. but of course, those don't compare to what's going on above. it's just... why is it so hard? to find a place that feels right?

and i'm really sorry, you guys. i should've looked deeper into the site before i started yapping about it here. i should've stuck with my gut when i said that i wanted to stay on my blog only, or at least not on those sites. i'm really, really sorry. i'll be more thorough when i look at sites like these again, i promise.

new friendrewind layout! already... sorry i keep changing it all the time. i really don't know how i wanna present myself.

this time around, i was inspired by fluffy visual novels / otome games and all the cute songs i've been listening to lately. the question is, is jaejoong in love with someone? or is he the person the player (myself </////3) is thinking about? who knows, who knows... tbh, i'd actually choose "write a love letter", but it would throw off the composition's balance. 

one thing is for sure, though: i'm glad to edit my own background again. headers are fun, but they don't cut it sometimes. i also have to edit it for mobile, but it should be easier this time around since i didn't mess with the layout in grid or anything.  

well, back to the school grind... at least my writing class starts today! i'm excited. :)

it is disgustingly late, but i wanted to get this in before i go to sleep.

new friendrewind layout! already... at first i wanted to use the editing skills i had with my background blend formula, but i ended up taking a stab at the grid code again. i think it turned out pretty well, though i need to mess with the margin and width properties tomorrow. and it's definitely not mobile friendly, but these things happen.

i was inspired by bento boxes. don't think i executed it as well as i'd like, but i have tomorrow to add some more tweaks n whatnot. goodnight everyone!

new friendrewind layout, i think. not tested on mobile or tablet yet tho! and dunno how long i'll keep it. the dropdown links on hover won't change bg, even though i've tried a million different element tags for it. the link buttons also aren't vertically centering, even though i've tried changing the padding values on them. the nav bar throws me for so many loops, it's not even funny!!!!!!!!!!! i'm digitally dizzy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but whatever. what do you guys think? due to these small things, i'm not sure. but i've been more into indie vibes this week, and wanted to make a layout that better reflected such.

also, orange. i don't like the color orange, and i've never liked citrus, but i feel like it fits the main theme song...
