wasn't feeling tip-top today, so i stayed home. got homework and lab work done online, read a lot, started planning the layout i'm gonna make for the swap...

a super old writing idea i had years ago recently started bugging me again. i don't think i'm ever going to act on it, but i do want to put it down somewhere in case that happens to change or someone else would want to write it too? maybe? lolz.

today's my somewhat day off, so i got to sleep in lots and take care of some catchup work for korean. also some chaos within the music magazine web team.

okay. the website is "dead and gone," per the editor-in-chief. the domain expired. i don't want to point fingers but what do y'all mean you didn't have the domain on automatic renewal under a current member... at the very least, since it's a wordpress site that wasn't self-hosted, the account remains up and all the data should still be in there, but no one but the execs can access it for now.

so, uh yeah. that's a scramble rn.

aside from that, i've made (writing retroactively i hope) some important forum n bulletin posts for the layout swap group. it appears it'll just be the 5 of us perhaps? i actually don't know the person to my right, and they have nothing on their page, but i'm happy they joined. i can probably figure something out anyway. if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask me wherever. i want to make this work, promise~

pretty average day today. i attended my anthro lecture, took notes, then went to my first data science lab! it was actually pretty cool. we learned the basics of python and the programs we'll be using, and i can't wait to learn more about them and actually do more with them.

took another korean quiz. i still think i'm in way over my head. there's another english class that has one spot left; i'm going to try this class out one more time, and if it doesn't gel, then i'm dropping it. i know it's what i always wanted, but i used that same reasoning for chem and got royally beat. so.

i'm going to do some studying, then some editing, and then i'll go to sleep.

oh, also. i found this playlist on youtube. i think you guys will like it. i see you're having really tough times right now, and i know it's not much, but i hope it can brighten your guys' day for at least a little while. if you need to decompress, i'll always have an open ear. i mean it.

today's the first day of classes! i woke up for a bioanthro lecture, and then went back to sleep. lolz.

i got an email back from the korean 1a professor, recommending that i take a step up and enroll in korean 1b instead! yay~ however. the only slot that’s available for me in that class is with a professor who i’ve heard is really strict……………… i’m so scared. i would be lying horribly if i said i wasn’t. 

on top of that, i just took a quiz today covering some of what would be learned in 1a and i did SO BAD. LIKE ACTUALLY. 11-14.5/20. maybe i'll fill in the gaps throughout the semester on top of learning the new stuff? because i did get most of what was being asked, i just didn't get small things. i don't know. i'm SCAREEEEDDDDDDD.

stuff happens though. this is only the first quiz. i think i should see the writing on the wall, but another part of me is telling me i should keep my head up. i don't know. this is what happened with chem isn't it? send help.

tomorrow i go back to campus. sort of looking forward to seeing all my professors and classmates in person. i got assigned to a thursday lab section, meaning i can only stay home on tuesday <///3 but that's ok, at least there's still one day ykyk.

eep, changed my layout early~ if the layout swap goes as planned then i'll stop using it early, which means i should begin using it early, right? it's not totally revolutionary, but i've been wanting to use this color palette for a while, so i'm glad to finally be able to execute it. aside from that, i've pretty much just been brainstorming all day for my edits wip. 

i have to begin preparing for spring semester tomorrow................. ugh. i want to stay in bed all day every day.................... ㅠㅠ oh well. i'm sort of excited to see what i have in store, though. and i can't wait to begin doing work for the music magazine again. i don't really talk to anyone, but everyone's so cool and i'm glad i joined :)

some of the libraries at my school reopened today, so i went to return some books i had checked out for my asian american studies project. then i hung around a different library (we have like. ten different libraries (or more, it's a big campus and i've never counted), so i'm trying to see which one vibes with my study mood the most).

another library visit, i think this will be my last for a while?

and for context, this is... the fourth library i know? (first being home, second being bayside town, third being spiral staircase, fourth being this one by my school. i feel like me saying "library" all the time is getting confusing for you guys, i'm sorry ㅠㅠ)

i didn't stay long, picked up a few cds and cookbooks (of course). this is the library that has the whole floor devoted to music and art, though there weren't a whole bunch of artists that i was into currently available. 

but! i did find..................... shinee. married to the music! and red velvet (tho i don't listen to them, i thought it was cool)! i'm glad to see kpop cds coming more and more to libraries around the area; they're always so expensive (because of the add-ons, i know) but i think people should be able to experience the joy of listening to kpop cds.................. (n then i picked up a joy division cd and an old bruno mars one (doo-wops n hooligans is really nostalgic ok..........))

i wonder. if you collect physical albums, what draws you to them? do you like to collect the fan goodies, or do you just want the disc? because nowadays i see some add cd players, keychains, headphones, toys, etc etc. it's sort of interesting, but i don't really want it myself. i only want the disc (when i'm sure i love the album) and hope for a card of my bias. if i want specific sorts of merch, i try to look online for fellow fans that are doing diy, or get the resources myself. 

that being said. i wonder what'll be in exo's new album. they don't really add a whole bunch of new things alongside the usual, but who knows what's up their sleeve this time. it's been a while. (speaking of exo, their tracklist was revealed! i'm particularly interested in moonlight shadows...)

... on the way back, the sunset was beautiful. coral clouds, the sky going from a pastel blue down to a blazing orange. soft lavender and rose pink. we had to pass through the bayside town in order to get home, so we drove along the beach, and i was able to step out and take some photos. i also took a video as we drove across the bridge later on. the cure cd i picked up was playing, and for a moment, everything felt like a dream.

i wish i could just stare at the sunset forever. but if i could, it wouldn't mean as much, right?

about a year ago (maybe more), i lost my cd for exo's sing for you album. i've been poring through all of my cd cases, all of my albums, over and over again wondering if i lost it for good... until now!!!!!!! i just found it again. it was tucked in one of my indie rock cds, underneath another one... so i always skimmed over it each time i looked ㅠㅠ it's a habit of mine, to leave unrelated cds in another case while on a drive. a little embarrassing, but i'm glad to know it didn't completely disappear.

to celebrate, i'm relistening to it~ it seems like i always forget how catchy unfair actually is...

anyway. other than that, i've been reading all day. i picked up a lot of interesting books at the library the other day, so i wanna make sure i get through all of them before i start school again.
