i listened through hearts2hearts' discography today. i keep reading that they're bringing back 2nd gen sounds and they're really good, and the curiosity got the best of me. their songs are nice to listen to, but i think i'd consider most of it more 3rd gen, actually. vaguely reminds me of twice and another gg, but i can't quite place it. 

do you guys like them?

i've also been in love with this breakcore mix recently. it's so soft and sweet.

hello hello! sorry for my absence. i know i said the workload was manageable, but it still takes up much of my day. i've also been trying to figure out financial stuff, as my financial aid package and tuition calculations have been finalized. also researching library science master's programs. never to early to begin, as the mantra was back in ninth grade when we all had to make ten-year plans................... i still think that wasn't a great activity for a career prep class, but the time's already passed.

been listening to japanese breakfast a bit. i got one of their cds at my library a couple of days ago. and besides, my sister-in-law suggested them to me, and they keep popping up in my recommended all the time............. why did i not listen to them sooner????? cod. i jammed out to jubilee for the rest of the day. and math rock still, of course. i really wanna find a ttng cd now, or a great big pile of leaves. the latter has them up for $10 on bandcamp, which is sick :3 might take advantage of that if they're still in stock. ttng also has their albums (aside from the first, my favorite </3) on bandcamp digitally.

also looking into walkman mp3s more. again. i think i've zeroed in on the nwz-s760. they have a fairly good price on ebay, usually have 8gb of storage, and you can change the wallpaper... if i commit to getting it, i'll write a post here when it comes in! 

in other news! fromis_9 is coming back later this month~ i'm so excited! and i'm going to japantown with my irl friend tomorrow :333 we haven't met up in months, so i'm super happy to see her again. i even have an outfit picked out and everything.

another little post about a song i've been liking recently. this time, it's a great big pile of leaves' vampires in love.

at first, i was thinking it would be a somewhat tragic or sad song, but it's actually very cute and playful. the lyrics are about someone who feels dull and lifeless-- like a zombie, since the age of twenty-- falling in love and looking forward to little things again. it feels like they're in outer space.

my favorite thing, though, is how most of the song talks about wanting to eat spaghetti and have sandwich picnics together. that's so adorable. now i want spaghetti and sandwich picnics too... dunno what "play vampires" means, though. maybe i don't want to know. the picnics are enough for me. :3

i don't really keep up with new releases as much as i used to when i first got into k-pop, but it's shinee. i had to see what they were up to.

and i fear... this will be my song of the summer. my jaw hit the ground when the pre-chorus hit, actually!!!! i knew from the intro that i'd love it, but that "slow it down" moment is such a hook. i luv it. and in general, the song is so nostalgic (early 4th gen house) yet fresh at the same time. it feels like bright summer days on the beach with those blue soda floats you see on pinterest all the time. 

10/10, no notes. i just wanted to put this down LOLZ.

it's not a genre i talk about a lot since i don't listen to it a lot, but it always returns to me when i feel like i have to dance: funk.

my head seriously hurts (it's even affecting my eyes and neck and making me feel nauseous), but i wanted to get a short post in.

the other day, while i was looking for study music, i came across a compilation of shin megami tensei's digital devil saga's battle ost. and i really like it! it reminds me a lot of older dynasty warriors songs, striking that perfect balance between repetitive and not, to keep yourself focused. (except... i locked into working on coding stuff, and not my work. but don't worry! i'm still getting work done, too.)

the interesting thing i noticed was a use of motifs throughout pretty much most of 1's ost. there's a whole series of songs with hunting in them, which have the same key melody, but shifted in different places and evoking different emotions. the base hunting song sounds rather gritty and serious, but the comrades version sounds a little more carefree. which makes sense, right? with friends, things are better~

i admit, i don't know much about shin megami tensei, though. i don't really have the mind for rpgs. 

don't think i'll be able to do much work today, too, because of the headache. staring at a screen is making it marginally worse. i'm sorry if you've commented / will comment things and i don't reply today!

today was a somewhat chill, fun day. i went out with my sister and mom to costco for a costco run, and got some rotisserie chicken and granola bars :3 with the news, i also went back to remaking hyphenland. i got a few album page remakes out of the way, at least.

today was pretty boring. this entire weekend, really. i just wanted to sleep through all of it. and get some work done, but still. i pretty much just laid in bed and watched minecraft and resident evil vids for 90% of it...
