pretty boring day today. i stayed home, did some laundry, and...
did some picture editing!!!

all my final grades have finally come out. they're all good! i'm so happy~ i was worried my final exams n projects were a total bust, but i studied n worked hard enough after all~ to celebrate, i rewatched the lotr trilogy and played lots of video games today. also did some coding and image editing!
i have a question. perhaps it's more suitable for the namesake of today's sotd, but... what sort of love stories are your favorite?
i think... my favorite love stories have always been ones with lots of domestic fluff. or fluff in general. i like to keep things light and heartwarming, and find the sweetness in the mundane. i particularly love scenarios that involve food and love letters or gifts. fluff used to be what i used to write a lot back in middle school-- i cleaned my room recently, and found notebooks where i'd scribble down scenario ideas. confessions in a ferris wheel, planning for a mutual friend's party, one making soup when the other's sick. maybe i should write them out now...
but i also do love grand soulmate / true love tales on occasion! not ones that are unhealthy or end in tragedy, of course, but ones that ultimately do test the limits of love. i find the dedication to one another inspiring. i usually like the this best in fantasy settings. balancing the transformation / end of the world, yourself, and the one you hold dear. the two of you versus the world, no matter how far apart you are. it's reassuring-- sometimes i can fall into despair over the possibility of romantic love, but the fact that so many (including myself) can imagine such dedication, means it's possible, right? ah well.
i'm usually not one to like defining stories by their tropes, but i'm a fan of hurt / comfort (which was probably apparent from the fluff stuff) and friends-to-lovers. x fell first and y fell harder is also fun. what about you guys?

i recently looked back at my rock-inspired magical boys concept, looked at some boxed brownie mix, and was hit with a new idea.................
chocolate magical girls~!

i don't really say that i have a favorite author anymore, but my favorite author for most of middle and high school was lemony snicket.
of course, i was introduced to his work through a series of unfortunate events. but honestly, i think i was more engrossed by his later series: all the wrong questions. it's snicket's take on the noir genre, for early teen readers.

sorry about missing yesterday's post-- i was genuinely so exhausted from yesterday that i took a shower and immediately went to sleep, lolz. and i was on such a good streak, too... ㅠㅠ
anyway. i have a writing idea to share~

since i've been playing on my switch more often, i'm sifting through all my past splatoon memories again.
one that won't particularly leave me alone is the idea i had for a splatoon au back in middle school. this is a long post, so hold on tight!!!
sorry i haven't updated in a while; i haven't been feeling my best.
today's sotd popped up in my study playlist today, and it brought me back to another old writing idea i had a long time ago. i hope you don't mind if i share it here.
i'm having a hard time putting the images from the market into the blog post UGHHHHH ㅠㅠ i think i'll take inspo from nara and put them all in a little slideshow, n add little anecdotes there alongside the fully written review / exploration in the post itself.
i do have something else i want to share, though, and i want to ask (even though i think i might have asked it before?): how do you feel about modern fairy tale retellings?
wasn't feeling tip-top today, so i stayed home. got homework and lab work done online, read a lot, started planning the layout i'm gonna make for the swap...
a super old writing idea i had years ago recently started bugging me again. i don't think i'm ever going to act on it, but i do want to put it down somewhere in case that happens to change or someone else would want to write it too? maybe? lolz.
wednesday already~~~
pretty standard wednesday, still doing work on my final essays n stuff. but! it was the final day of in-person meeting for my asian american studies class. monday was the final in-person meeting for my art class. and tomorrow is my last day of in-person instruction in general... i almost wanted to cry, actually. despite being so stressed, i'm having a pretty good time. or, i had a good time. and now, things will change... hopefully the fun will keep rolling with me :)
i started rebuilding the kat-tun fansite. dunno what i'm really gonna put there, still, but it feels nice to be building a site again, haha.
lately i've been having bolero on repeat. again. especially as i'm returning to my old ideas inspired by mei's butler and my former interest in lolita fashion. i remember when i got pinterest for the first time and saw all the lolita coords; i thought they were the cutest ever, and wanted to dress up as them when i got older. alas, it's not meant to be. i'm not comfortable wearing dresses anymore, and i really loved the dresses most of all...
did i ever share the link to my mei's butler-ish quiz? i don't remember. if you haven't taken it before, you can do so here~ (only male results btw) let me know what you think of it!!! i've taken a look back at my quotev account and found that i had a second part in the works... i sorta want to revive it, i miss making quizzes... (even though it was only for like. two weeks, LOLZ, and i wasn't really great at it.) alongside the story idea. ehehe!

happy thanksgiving!!! if u celebrate. if not, regardless, i hope thursday is going well for you~ i am thankful for all of your guys' presence in my lives n i luv uuuuuuuu~
i feel as if this is somewhat embarrassing on my end, but. uh. did anyone else in this web space have a wattpad phase? or fanfic phase in general.
if your brain could be made of anything except what it is right now (which is mostly fat and water in this world), what would you want it to be made of?
lately i've been thinking a lot about the concept of penpals.
to give a bit of context, i used to love looking at letter sets. especially as i used to have a sanrio store near my home, seeing all the cute papers with the corresponding stickers and envelopes was a real highlight of my day if i ever went. but i had no one to send them to!!!! i was 6!
i still don't... but lately around the interwebs i've been seeing people send and open their penpal letters, with all these cute stickers and pressed flowers, pics, pins, what have you... and now i feel like i'm a kid again, hoping one day i can have a penpal as such.
but where to begin? how? all my friends and i are so digitally connected. maybe an interweb friend of mine? but i don't want to make them uncomfortable... or maybe one of my friends when they go off to college, that might be interesting.
