thyme

cooking an amazing pasta sauce right now while listening to my vampiric playlist. it smells amazing. noodles on the stove and everything, with a bunch of garlic and onions and thyme. added bay leaf for whatever reason, and there's a strange nostalgic sweetness that comes with it. i feel more alive than i have in days. but then again it's only the third day of the new year. this feels like a good sign.

moving on.

well, not moving on, really. for some reason making the sauce and cooking the sauce made me think about life a lot, lolz. something romantic.

of course i imagined myself writing about the sauce here, and to my spacehey friends, thinking that maybe one day i can have a big dinner with all my friends and serve them pasta. that sounds nice, doesn't it? unless they can't have pasta. but i can always make something else.

and then my mind wandered further. maybe cooking pasta with a partner (or someone i hope to be with at the time) in the future, in a little cottage by the forest. the kitchen is aglow with warm light, and the scents of it make ease settle into every molecule of the space. i hope they'll like it, and thinking of their smile makes me want to pay the closest attention to everything, prepare each ingredient with the utmost care...

pretty sure i've said this before, but i'll say it again: food is a love language. a very effective one at that.

(and as i write this maps is playing. everything is beautiful.)
