soup n noodles

been craving ramen lately, so uhhhhh i'm gonna have some. realizing the pic i chose is strangely fitting, since he was working in kuma's ramen shop~ 

anyway. random updoodles.

today was pretty uneventful, aside from the fact i found out i have a unit test in two days. and apparently i didn't charge either of my outside devices well enough to last the day. but somehow, even though the ipod showed literally no batter (the little battery icon was empty), it kept playing for another twenty minutes????? like, do i have an enchanted ipod? is it just a display glitch? i mean, i'm glad for the extra minutes of music, but... uh... spooky.

finished reading the book i told you guys about, and uh... i'm so disappointed. the ending wasn't satisfying at all-- it came completely out of left field (unless i'm just dense), and... i dunno. just threw what i thought the message was away. i'm not sure what the whole point was anymore. and no amount of pretty writing can make up for that, i'm afraid. 

overall, it seems that this year's reading log isn't looking so stellar. there's only really one book i can remember being really good, and even then some things were off... i dunno. maybe i'm just looking through the wrong genres? but i'm trying to get a good look at everything, really! it's just that either the premise isn't interesting at all, or the execution just falls so flat on its face despite all the beautiful writing. style over substance, almost.

is it just me? or, if you're a fellow reader (primarily of the ya genre since that's mostly what i read), have you stumbled across the same? 

either way, i wonder where i should look for books next...
