thursday morning was rough. heat and humidity, and walking up a 180ft slope without any shade was sort of totally horrendous (look, i'm not well-equipped to handle anything above 75degF), and i hope to never do that again. that being said, i was already running late since i missed the train... so if i leave way earlier, i'll be able to take a different route or take water breaks. and this is a heatwave, and the weather should be cooling down soon... fingers crossed... knock on wood...
but afterward, i got myself some boba, ate lunch, and got a lot of work done. and since our music magazine was tabling, i went over and helped out a bit. it was fun! we got to talk to a lot of people and get them interested. and i met another design team member, which was cool.
after that i got stuck in a seminar hall with no ac, lolz. so that was weird again. and someone answered a question in the most insensitive, tone-deaf, ignorant way ever conceived. i had to fight back the urge to yell across the hall from my seat, because what the... how the [redacted] can you be at this school and say something SO out of line?! it's inexcusable.
but then i went home and ate some chicken, and ranted about it to my parents, and felt better.
i only had discussion sessions today, which were really nice. my classmates in those sections and the gsis seem pretty cool.
OH, and an update on our professor... the way that our substitute on wednesday explained it, i thought she'd be out temporarily. uh. no. the gsi said that the department is scrambling to find us a new professor, and we don't have a professor AT ALL right now. i need this class for my major, you guys ㅠㅠ i hope the professor is okay, but omg.
also something sort of awesome: both of the english classes i'm signed up for have a no-laptop policy (with exceptions of course)! i'm pretty excited about it, though i need to ask whether or not e-readers are accepted since i have digital versions of some things (to save money, yk...). or i could just print what i have out the day before. idk. we'll see.
after the discussion sections, i ate lunch (again), and walked around to see what clubs were tabling today. i got a lot of free flyers. i'm going to apply for a creative science magazine (they're in need of graphic designers), and a staff position for a pop media orchestra club. i also got some things from web dev groups, but since their meetings are late at night, i probably won't apply just because that means i wouldn't be able to join anyway.
and! i got myself a new cd: minus the bear's menos el oso. i've been meaning to get it for MONTHS. i kept saying "if i do this, then i'll get it!" and kept never getting it... and then it disappeared from one of the cd stores, so i knew i had to take my chance. and now i have it~ it's the 20th anniversary edition as well, so it comes with an extra photobook and demos. i'm very happy.
that being said, i have a bit of a problem with taking the train home. for some reason, i keep getting nauseous on the train back. the train to is fine, but back doesn't work, even though i ate and drank. maybe it's the temperature. i don't know.
as for this weekend... i'll probs sleep in and get more work done. it's mostly reading and taking notes, which if you know, i don't mind at all~ but i also wanna get more blog posts out of the way before the month ends.
anyyyyywayyyyyy, i found something i think u guys might like! become a member of girls' generation, choose some super cute outfits, and get a member as a result! i got jessica. u can take the quiz here, if u're so inclined~
sotd: i'm totally not down with rob's alien by minus the bear (also... realizing i forgot the sotd yesterday X( y'all i'm so sorry.)

180FT WITH NO SHADEEE?!? oh my gosh, i'm so sorry. (also, that's so real.. i wish temperatures were in the 70's more often.. it's the perfect temperature.)
people are strange. some don't think (if at all) before they speak, and they just end up saying dumb things. and we have to hear it!! and the room already didn't have ac so that just made things even worse, omggg.. now is not the time to be ragebaiting, NOT in this heat.
omg?? what is going on at your school! no ac and now no professor?? i'd be a little anxious too, especially for such an important class. hopefully they're able to find someone very soon.
a graphic designer position in a creative science magazine sounds perfect for you!! also, if you don't mind me asking, what does the pop media orchestra club entail? i've never heard of that before, but it sounds interesting!
i'm glad you could get the cd!! sometimes you just need that little extra push to finally do something you've been putting off, lol.
oh no, that's not good. it sounds like motion sickness, but what's strange is it only happens on the ride back. is it cooler there in the mornings? if so, maybe you don't feel bad bc it's not as hot yet? i agree that it could be the temperature tho, as excessive heat does make you feel unwell. and after a full day of being in the heat, i don't doubt your symptoms could be from the temperatures. i do hope it goes away!
YAYYY ANOTHER QUIZ!!! picking out my clothes was kinda hard bc i'm very indecisive but I GOT SOOYOUNG!!!! :D
i'm happy that september is coming!! august feels like it went by in such a flash. i hope you have a lovely end to the month, and that your weekend is relaxing. take care, eugene!!
yuppppppp... but idk, i think i chose the worst route. i think others have shade-- i'll try one next time... ㅠㅠ (and right??? the perfect medium, though i'll also gladly take the 60deg range.)
EXACTLYYYYYYY, like why are you making us all suffer in here. this is ridiculous. but at least it was only once, and we heard no more nonsense after that... i hope... and i hope we get a new professor, too. i don't know what i'm gonna do without this class!
they're a group that plays music specifically from films, anime, and video games! and it's not an orchestra / music group sponsored by the school. it does sound pretty cool~
thank u! that's very true, lolz.
that's what i was thinking too. it is cooler on the train to school, and way less packed. it really sucks though, because i have no other option. the train company cut the amount of cars on the train back, so it's pretty much guaranteed to be packed. i hope it goes away too though, maybe when the weather finally cools down.
AAAAAAA YAY! :D also YES!!!! once september comes, it means fall and winter weather is on the way! i hope you have a lovely end to your month as well, nara. u get lots of rest too and take care!!! :3
