mung bean

went out today! the concrete walkway in front of our apartment was refilled, so my mom and i went out. we didn't want to be stuck inside waiting the whole day for it to dry. we went to the mall! 

originally i was planning to go up to the library in my uni's town to check out some doctor who dvds, but i felt tired at the mere thought of going to my uni town lolz, so i ultimately decided against it, and we went in the opposite direction.

we didn't really get much at the mall, mostly just walked around and looked at things. my mom got some new shoes for herself, though (there was a sale), and i got a little frodo keychain for my bag. 

since we still had some time after wandering, i decided to check out the area on the maps app to see if there were any interesting boba shops around. there were, so we went to one, n i got a mung bean milk tea with pandan pudding n boba!

i've actually never tried mung bean before, but this milk tea wasn't bad! its nutty and vaguely roasted flavor reminded me of hojicha somewhat, and soy. dunno if that's entirely accurate, that's just what my mind told me. i can def see how it compliments pandan, though. and maybe the boba i added to the drink affected the taste a bit, since it was honey boba, so there was also some honey in there mixing things up. but overall, it wasn't bad. i think i'd buy it if i was foreseeing a long studying session n needed something to drink in small sips. all at once, the flavors are a bit overwhelming for me.

i think i enjoyed the drive to and from the mall most of all, though. we took the long way since we'd have so much time on our hands, and it was really beautiful. we stayed by the hills somewhat, and quiet neighborhoods. it was weirdly relaxing and nostalgic. i hope i can have long drives with friends in the future, too.
