mech

third post. i'll try and write the fourth (the third ufo town exploration post) before i go to bed, but i probs won't post it. this is just for random things on my mind and to keep this blog up with the real world, eep.

i went out the other day in search of some fabric. with the kpop convention coming up, i was thinking of making myself a piece of dbsk merch to wear. especially since i've outgrown most of my other kpop merch. i found a nice lightweight knit fabric for abt $11/yd, which is actually pretty good around here. but since i haven't sewn clothing before, i didn't get it. i did get some colorful robot fabric to make some cute shorts, though. it'll be my practice.

the place also had a super adorable selection of japanese prints. i'm hoping i'll be able to use them someday, maybe for stuffed animals or nice collared shirts. or maybe i'll make a notebook with them. notebooks with fabric covers, hm hm. they're not common or cheap to get, but i'm a little appreciative of them.

after that, i walked around a bit more, got lunch and some ice cream. looked at some interesting books in a little bookstore. there was thrift store with some interesting items i wanted to get, but i wasn't sure. and if you aren't sure, you shouldn't get it, right?

then i went home and played some video games. i've been going through my samurai warriors games again. and now that i think about it, i wish we had a video game console that could hold multiple discs at once so you didn’t have to get up and down again to change games. my mom's stereo can hold up to five cds at once, and can circle through them. it would be cool if a console could do that. we moved on to digital games too fast. and yeah, i get that such is the point of digital games (to not need to manage so many discs), but having physical copies of things that can't corrupt as easily is important, i feel.

in other news, i've been listening to a lot of math rock lately. strange time signatures / time signature changes and icy guitars help me stay focused, somehow.

your past couple of posts on ufotown have made me realize how cool the internet used to be. the banner and nav bar on there is the cutesttt~ and from what was archived, the group pages are really cool, too. i visited snsd, kara, and miss a ^_^ i can't believe we basically missed this era of the internet!! ㅠ_ㅠ it was like something new around every corner! aaa, i just wish cute and fun websites were the norm.

robot shorts?? :D that is so cute! i hope they turn out well. and a fabric notebook sounds so nice. super soft~~

i agree, that would be so awesome. if a stereo can do it, why can't a game console? but you're righttt, digital games.. :/ it sucks how we can barely own anything anymore. i love having physical copies of stuff, especially dvds!! wiping the dust off the disc and putting it back into the console was the best part, lol.

right!!!! and the banner is the cutest, for eels. i love the little mascots. also super happy that you were able to look through it also! :D i hope u found some cool images. and yes... it was literally right behind us, it's UPSETTING. but funnily enough, at least ufo town was up until the mid/late 2010s. sorta interesting.

you mentioning that reminded me of how technology and adverts were all about the future we were promised, or whatever the phrase is. especially the internet we were promised-- a hub of information and learning and connection. but now it all feels so greedy. maybe the pendulum will swing back some time.

aaaaa thank u!!! i can't wait to get started :3

YESSSSSS, wiping down discs is so fun. and i've always loved how shiny they are, the colors shifting in the light n all that... i'm glad to see that physical collection is becoming popular again :3

what sort of dvds do u have? i don't collect a bunch, but my family used to collect a lot of action movies.

YESSS the dvd rainbow, i loved that so much!! :D i'm glad to see it too, it's like a form of healing.

we used to have a case full of disney and dreamworks dvds that we would keep in the car so we could watch them on the little tv. we had a few tinkerbell movies, madagascar, frozen, the incredibles, and lots more!!
