freight train coming

listening to atdi's music so much, i've gotten the sense their songs would be pretty good for a piece of horror(...ish?) media. i'm getting a lot of inspiration from it, though it's all very disjointed right now. only brief flashes of scenes.

especially if supernatural or strange / surreal in some way. understated, but still suspenseful. i think it'd lean more towards themes of possession and true expression? how that feels? especially as someone who struggles with identity, that would be an interesting write. everyone in their own sort of mental anguish based on how they perceive themselves, how they feel they're perceived by others, what they're hiding and what they're not...

i could connect it to my old idea of a band monster-of-the-week sort of thing, where the main characters are in a band? i'd add in the 2000s, but i don't really want to attract that nitpicky sort of attention right now, if you get what i mean? that's a topic for another time, admittedly.

so just... take the monster-of-the-week formula and make it more horrifying. or make it have an overarching plot that isn't apparent until like... halfway through the story? or should i just start off with people being put in a strange and bad situation.

it's funny. i actually can't really write strange and bad situations that well unless i'm fairly content. but i'm not content, so i'm writing more fluff right now. i guess you have to balance the scales somehow.
