yearbook edition

why did i literally never notice march started. lolz! just changed my few past posts and made a new tag. strangely been listening to one direction a lot today. i don't think i've really talked about them much, so i suppose i will now...

i learned about one direction when i was... nine? in the third grade. they were the first boy band i was ever interested (and shortly after them, i got into kpop). i don't really remember how anymore-- maybe i recalled their name, but none of their songs or content. especially considering i wasn't really allowed to watch them before...

i didn't really have a favorite member then, but i recall usually finding louis' sense of humor endearing. i liked his voice and admired how he wrote some of their deepest lyrics. and even beyond that, he seems to be a sweet, lovable guy. so i guess you could consider louis my favorite. i would devour their first and second album every day on my ipad and look at all the old posts and fanart and videos compiling their silliest moments.

even though i was never really part of the fandom for long, i thought i could really feel its power, and quite frankly i still can when i look back at all the old videos and posts. even listening to their music now, i can imagine. the way the old blogs looked, old photo editing. their music always felt like sunny afternoons to me, even their more somber ones. though sometimes, they'd feel more like a classic fall day instead.

as i've grown older, i listen to their music every once in a while, for the nostalgia and sweetness and connect myself to a time i miss. to this day, irresistible and truly madly deeply are some of the most wonderful songs i have ever listened to.

i don't know where i was going with this. i guess this was all to say, i'm glad i found them. they've truly been the foundation to my adolescence, and i'm sure such can be said for millions of others across the globe. it's truly remarkable. i'm thankful.
