went on a sort of incredibles lore binge the other night. i used to really like that movie when i was tiny, but haven't really thought much about it until a video about the kronos system syndrome created popped up in my recommended. (and cod, that was chilling. the context flew over my head as a child obvi, but the atmosphere always scared me. and now, that horror is even more genuine. should rewatch it.)
which then sort of got me thinking about the... less-serious concept of superpowers.
a lot of the time, we get asked the question, "what superpower do you want most?" and obviously, there are so many ways to answer. but then we think about limitations and how we'd use them, and it's all complicated and crazy.
personally i'm likely to say shapeshifting or invisibility nowadays. i'd love to be able to change my appearance on a whim, to truly reflect who i am inside. and if it had more meta possibilities, such as stretching or size manipulation, it would be helpful in numerous situations! and invisibility, because sometimes i just don't wanna be seen~
i used to say elemental answers when i was in elementary school, because i wanted to be part of a magical group that would all have elemental powers, yk? and i was blue, so i would have water, and that's what i usually said. out of all the elements, i did think water or wind would be the most useful or flexible. because fire's a no-go the moment it gets too cold or water splashes on it, and earth is... earth. honestly i dunno why i didn't vibe with it then, but i still don't now, so...
i know there's like, a million types of powers people could come up with. i wonder, what power you would want?
returning to the idea of narrating things a little bit, i find that i often find myself wanting to do so. whether books or quizzes, or quiz results, or instruction... i dunno, i just really want to narrate stuff. which is sorta funny, considering i barely talk irl and stutter a lot. oh well. what's a potato to do?
