together breakfast

today was a happy day. see, my brother got married recently! they hosted a party this evening, to celebrate their union.

the gathering was hosted at 5, and the drive would take abt an hour, so i got to sleep in a bunch. i ate lunch, did some work since i have a lot slated for this week and wanted to make up for what i was gonna miss in the evening. then i dressed up, and while it wasn't what i originally thought i would dress up in, i felt pretty cute. also did some makeup, just a bit of eyeliner and a lip tint.

i was concerned about the weather for the gathering (it was literally 100degF out there), but they ended up moving it inside, which was really awesome. and this is the first time we're meeting my sil's family! the first time a lot of their friends and family are meeting us as well-- complicated, but. they were all really cool. it's a bit sad that we couldn't have been acquainted earlier.

the venue was really nice, lots of modern art and places to sit. they had a little photobooth set up, as well as a television that played a slideshow of various moments they had together. they've been together 16 years you know, hm hm! if any relationship could be true love, i think it would be theirs.

i sat around for a while, sipping cucumber water and chatting with a few people before they served food. they had a taco bar! it all looked really good, but i had a big lunch just in case (and wanted to save room for dessert), so i just had some rice and pulled pork. and i'm really glad that i saved room for dessert!!! they had three different ones: a mango cheesecake, a fruit tart, and a giant princess sheet cake!!!!!!!! i love princess cake, so to see so much of it was amazinggggg~ x3 i didn't get to try the fruit tart, but the cheesecake and the princess cake were really good! (there were so many leftovers, my sil's eldest brother had me take the entire rest of the cake home... omg. it's like half a foot by a quarter of a foot. i don't think i can eat that all.)

the conversation part was pretty awkward for the most part; i mean, most people there were at least 30, so there wasn't really much to talk about except for how i'm doing in school. that sort of thing. but i did get to talk to one of my brother's childhood friends, and we got to chat about kpop and anime a bit. that was fun. i found out that the friend's wife used to listen to dbsk................... omg. and she likes snsd, t-ara, shinee... right then and there i wished i could've been existed in the old web kpop era. LIKE FOR AT LEAST A SECONDDDDDDDD, it's so unfair. but this decade is okay too, i guess.

i also got to get to know my sister's boyfriend a bit better. he's cool. his personality is different from what i expected, but they work well together.

we took pictures outside, which was really hot for a bit, but not too bad. there was lots of shade to hide under. i hope they turned out cute; by coincidence, my sister, sil, and i all wore green today. different shades of green, but green nonetheless.

and then speeches! there was a speech from both my brother and sister-in-law, then friends and family. i think my sister had the best one, hehe. she's a really good speaker in general, had the crowd hyped up multiple times.

the drive back home was super dark and surrounded by trees and hills, so i listened to a bunch of type o negative lolz. pretty epic.

i wanted to do more work when i got home, or put out the next part of the quiz series, but omg. i'm exhausted. i promise i'll talk to you guys tomorrow!!! i just really have to sleep.

hi eugene!! i'm sorry for getting to this so late. i just wanted to give a huge congratulations to your brother and the new family~ and wow, 16 years! that's so lovely. i wish the best for them. ♡

i'd never heard of princess cake before, i really like how it looks. that sounds like a lot of cake tho! hopefully you will have plenty of help to finish it all, hehe.

it's good you were able to connect with someone there despite the age differences, lol. i also tend to feel a little bit of jealousy for the people that got to experience the earlier days of k-pop... they seemed like fun times, for the most part.

i hope you were able to get some sleep, and that this week has been treating you well. talk soon!

it's really good! though the green fondant is a little off-putting flavorwise at times. i think we're currently about 2/3 done with it? so not too bad, i guess. here, u can try someeeee :3 🍰

right!!! fandoms will always be fandoms, but... idk. from the outside in this decade, it looks somewhat cozy.
