i don't bring my computer on most days (to save my back), so i tend to hang out in the computer lab a lot. but today, the computer lab was completely full...!!! so, i went to the radio and spent a couple of hours working in the library instead.
honestly, it was a good break that i think i needed, all things considered... i went through a row of classical records (mostly bach), taped up some edges that were beginning to come apart. i don't listen to baroque classical as much as i used to (as a kid), but there were a few records i was slightly interested in...
after sorting through the one row, i decided to take a little break and listen to some cds. there's a cd and record player in the library for people to listen to albums with, mostly music reviewers and djs trying to put together their setlist, but anyone who works in the library in any capacity can use it. i started listening to united by phoenix, but didn't like it at ALL. so i started listening to silent alarm by bloc party instead, and i loved it~ if i ever see it at one of the cd stores near me, i'll be sure to pick it up.
while doing so, i decided to put a couple of ripped / detached labels back on a couple more cds. one of them was the postal service... i swear my heart almost skipped a beat! ugh. if i were to ever find a postal service fan in the wild at school, i think i'd swoon.
i also had a couple of grouper cds (actually insane that we have them, i'm so thrilled), and some at the drive-in, but i ran out of time and had to get to the train station. oh well. next time...
looking back now... do you remember how i said last year, that i felt i'd spend a lot of time in the computer lab and the ethnic studies library? something about those places felt somewhat home-y and familiar to me. the same goes for the music library; there's something cozy about it that makes me not want to leave. and luckily for me, i won't necessarily have to-- the radio station allows for people outside of students and uni staff to be part of it, so i could come back or continue after i graduate. feels quite nice. feels like a place to fall in love in--
blah. now i'm just saying random things. well... on the web, you guys, someone made an snsd member quiz...!!! find out which snsd member you are... i got jessica, hehe.
