pink pixel heart glitter

sooooooo... uhhhh... what do you guys think? do you like it?

of course, this is... liable to change. some of the titles keep the default font no matter what i change, the widths for some medium-sized images may not fit due to them being set separately from the post body (see the previous post), and the mobile theme definitely won't be as fun. don't know where to put the music.

i still have to add your guys' buttons, my other links, my button, profile, my most popular posts / the archive? maybe? i don't know. i might shift if back to having left and right columns, depending on how much i wanna keep.

all things considered, i'll probably change back to the theme i just had once we get into fall or winter for eels.

but! i'm rather happy with how this turned out. it feels like my old spacehey div-overlay-esque layouts, but brought to blogger. i'm sort of proud.

if you're curious as to how i did it, i shall explain~

first off: simple layout. the simply simple simple layout, specifically, with no backgrounds whatsoever. column and footer configuration is up to you, but for this, i needed the layout set with one left column and one full footer.

set the font-size of the header and description to 0 if you can, or set the text color to transparent. translate main-outer and footer up, about 100px. you already can't click on the header, so no worries about it being like. right over it.

take the image you wish to use for the main section, and use that as the background image for column-center-outer. adjust the widths of post-body, post-footer, post-header, comments, and blog pager to fit the graphic, if part of the space is taken up by the graphic. adjust the heights, widths, and scroll properties as needed. you could set the entire main body to the background image, but i figured it would be harder to configure the left column in that case... (or any other column)

i moved the pages widget to the left column, of course! and the report widget. then i messed with the li a properties a bit, like you would on spacehey, so they would look like buttons.

and, uh, yeah. that's sort of it. i'm pretty bad at explaining things the first time, so if you need more clarification, i'll gladly give you some!

but, uh... this is the murasaki diaries 8.0! welcome, welcome...! i hope you like it!!! i'm going to do work now!!!!!!!

AAAAA I ABSOLUTELY LOVEEEE IT!!!! the photo on the side is so amazing. (als correct me if i'm wrong, but did you set the subject id as jaejoong's birthday? if so, that is so cute and i love that!)

this is definitely reminiscent of your old div overlay layouts. when i first looked at it, i assumed the process of creating it would be quite difficult, but i'm glad to see that it didn't give you too much of a hard time. and thank you for taking the time to explain so thoroughly!! i really appreciate it :D
