just woke up from another strange dream.
i hung out around my school for some time, and then joined in a couple of on-air discussions in the school's radio station about at the drive-in. which was interesting, because heck yeah! i'd love to be engaged in a few discussions about at the drive-in and how they impacted me. even though it's only been a few months, they've really changed up how i view myself. (omar and cedric being curly guys really helped me develop confidence in my curly hair alongside being alt (they're specifically punk but i'm not, though some considered atdi emo too), because of prevailing standards against that. i swear i feel so much freer. and they're cute, hellooooooooo...) and their music is just plain good, yk? from acrobatic tenement to relationship of command, it's perfect. (not to rag on their last one, i just haven't listened to it much. i tend to prefer the weird grittiness that comes with 90s/2000s rock recordings.)
of course the discussion never actually happened in the dream... every time it started, the scene changed to after or before the event. i'd be wandering around halls or outside, or walking back to the train station in the moonlight. maybe that's a sign i should attend discussions about at the drive-in. if they even exist! i would love for them to exist.
the weird thing too, is that. of course while it felt like my school, it completely didn't look like it. comes with the territory of being a dream, but. all the halls looked different; the libraries were replaced with them in this sort of triangle around a glade. the science hall was completely sleek white and black, appeared to be new. the others looked older than they are. the radio station was in the science hall, which isn't true.
within the science hall, there were strange photo booths that neurology students (according to my mind) loved to take photos in when they graduated. there was a giant mechanical tyrannosaurus rex in the third floor. the elevators were black metal pods that squished you, alone, into a tube (though i got out perfectly fine somehow). the halls were pure white, until you got to the basement. then the walls became seafoam green and pale yellow. and on one day of the discussion, the station was completely intact; on the second day, all the floorboards were torn up and they were doing construction. the station looks like neither of those settings! where am i getting these settings?
i did get one thing right, though. how crisp the air feels on campus at night. we have a fair amount of trees around campus, and at night, the smell is so strong it pierces every single bit of your respiratory system. while it's disorienting at first i'm not mad about it. it feels sorta relaxing, really.
it's sorta weird how i'm never able to generate a completely accurate depiction of my surroundings in dreams. or at least, i haven't been able to since i was a young child. they were pretty clear then, but now they all blend together. even things i don't recognize. dreams are supposed to all be things you've seen before, but they come together in the weirdest ways.
anyway. i'm off to listen to my two cds back to back and on repeat now. byeeeee~ ehehe.
